TACTILES

These Tactiles are a unique system of vandal proof tactile ground surface indicators that fully comply with the Australian Standards AS/NZS 1428.4.1:2009. Simple, rapid and cost effective installation with minimal disruption makes them the ideal solution for retro fitting in all situations, consequently aiding the mobility skills, orientation and the safety of the vision impaired and blind. This Tactile system is a new generation solution for instant, durable and aesthetically pleasing tactile ground surface indicators. This unique product blends style and versatility within a system that is modular, flexible and extremely cost effective. State-of-the-art in its design, yet simple and easy to install. Compliant with new public access standards.

StairnosingsSTAIRNOSINGS

Stairnosings are essential for buildings where student, staff and public access occurs by steps. They are also vital where dedicated stair cases are used for fire escape purposes.
Building Codes for the construction of stairs and exits and Australian Standards for access and mobility now require all new buildings to include slip-resistant stair treads.

LuminanceLUMINANCE (REQUIRED CONTRAST)

Luminance contrast of TGSI(Tactile Ground Surface Indicator) is the difference in the amount of light reflected from the TGSls compared to the amount of light reflected from the background or adjacent path of travel.
Where the TGSI is an integrated unit, it shall have a minimum luminance contrast of 30% compared to the amount of light reflected from the surface of the adjacent path of travel.
Where the TGSls are discrete units having the same luminance for the sloping sides and upper surface of the truncated cones, the units shall have a minimum luminance contrast of 45% compared to the amount of light reflected from the surface of the adjacent path of travel.
Where the TGSls are discrete units having differing luminance for the sloping sides and upper surface of the truncated cones, the units shall have a minimum luminance contrast of 60% compared to the amount of light reflected from the surface of the adjacent path of travel.
These contrasts shall be achieved under both natural and artificial lighting conditions and shall be maintained under all weather conditions.
